Phyang Monastery
This prominent Buddhist monastery is located 15km away from Leh. Established in 1515, it was the first monastery in Ladakh to preach the teachings of Degungpa School of ‘Skyob Jigsten Gonbo.’ The 10-day Phyang Monastery festival is the best tourist draw during the month of July.

Stok Monastery
It was established by Lama Lhanang Lotus in the 14th century. It is known for its photogenic architecture and housing 108 volumes of the Kangyur in its library. The annual ritualistic dance mask performance breathes life into the monastery.

Magnetic Hill
Also called as the Gravity Hill, it is located on Leh-Kargil-Srinagar Highway. Due to the optical illusion, a downhill slope appears as an uphill slope. Domestic tourists on car journeys do stop here to view the illusion of a car drifting upwards.

The people of Ladakh celebrate their traditional festival of the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava, which is a brilliant summer festival. The denizens of Ladakh are mainly Buddhists by religion and follow Mahayana strand of Buddhism.
