Ramanathaswamy Temple
This is perhaps the first place people plan to visit while holidaying in this city. This temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga Temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and was built in the 17th century. It is believed that this temple was built by Lord Rama himself and it has a significant place in Indian mythology. The temple's design features the longest temple corridor of the world along with 1200 gigantic granite columns.

Jada Tirtham
Jada Tirtham is just 3.5km from Ramanathaswamy Temple. It is visited by streams of Hindu devotees due to the sacred pond located here. It is said that after killing Ravana Lord Ram visited here and washed his Jata (matted hair) in Jada Tirtham before worshipping Shiva Lingam. There is also a sacred pond here which is believed to be the only place where Lord Kapardisvara is worshipped.

Kothandaramaswamy Temple
Kothandaramaswamy Temple is an ancient temple in the small town of Dhanushkodi. The town is known for housing shallow beaches, ancient remnants and pristine azure sea. This place has a great mythological importance and plays a key role in discovering the plot of Ram Sethu.

The five faced Hanuman Temple
This temple attracts all with its five manifestations of Lord Hanuman. This idol is made with a beautiful large Senthooram Stone and holds numerous stories of the ancient times. It is believed that this temple houses stones which were used construct the Rama Setu by Hanuman's army of monkeys.
