Kanha National Park

One of the largest parks in Madhya Pradesh, the Kanha National Park is where the Royal Bengal Tigers are found in good numbers. The Park holds a global recognition for saving the Barasingha from near extinction. Attractions & Excursions

You can catch a glimpse of the furry wild cats, gaurs, blazing black deer and many other species as you travel through the dense forests of Kanha National Park. The Jeep Safari in the Kanha National Park can be enjoyed twice a day for a specified time. If luck favours you, you might sight a ‘barasingha’ which is exclusively found here. A safari in Kanha will surely get you thrilled, the way you were on your first trip to the zoo, as a child.

Another major attraction is watching sunset at Bamni Dadar. Situated 27m above Kanha, the beautiful sunset views here leave the onlookers awestruck. You can take out your camera and capture animals like Gaur, Samba, Barking Deer and the Four Horned Antelope or let the place capture you with its beauty.

Kanha Museum is another popular attraction among the travelers. The sight of the museum attracts everyone with an interest in animal history and love. Once in the gallery, you will come across the magnificent sculpted structures of the species. Maintained with optimum care by the Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh, the museum adds up to the beauty of the National Park.

The fine wings of water birds like herons, storks, teals, kites, and eagles an also be sighted here. With the Park being divided into 4 parts, the avifauna also varies. If lucky enough you can spot up to 60-70 birds as the National Park has enormous diversity when it comes to these gliders.

Best time to visit Kanha National Park
During the summer season (April to June) the maximum temperature hovers around 43 degrees. Winters (November to February) can be quite cold. In winters, the frost often cloaks the meadows. The best time to visit Kanha Tiger Reserve is the period from mid October to June end.
